We’re making waves! Our 35-foot water table is being installed, and it’s already making a splash!
At the headwaters of this immersive experience, kids will encounter a giant rain cloud, now taking shape above the table. With the turn of a wheel, they’ll control the storm—choosing whether to make it drizzle gently or pour down in buckets right at the start of the river. As the water falls, they’ll watch it wind through valleys, around bends, and past wetlands, seeing firsthand how rainfall flows across the land. It’s hands-on learning that brings the concept of watersheds to life in a way that’s as fun as it is educational.
This is just the beginning of a much bigger adventure. As kids follow the current downstream, they’ll explore:
- Boat races to test currents and design
- Beaver dams that show how animals shape ecosystems
- Hydroelectric power stations they can activate
- City-building zones to explore human impact on waterways
- Bird habitats to learn about wildlife along the Mississippi
- Whirlpools that swirl and spin with natural energy
Every twist and turn is designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and connection—to our river, our environment, and the communities who rely on both.
